  17. I just experienced the following with a Microcom Deskporte FAST+ modem:

  21. Modems were delivered with firmware version 3.1: Dial backup had not been
  22. tested (apparently) and did not work.
  23.  
  24. Upgraded to version 3.3: now dial backup does not work, when connection
  25. password is used, and the AT&F does not restore all defaults.
  26.  
  27. Microcom tells us, that they don't want to fix it (even if it is part of the 
  28. specifications).

  30. Now you know, why we are looking for other modems.

  32. By the way there is a secret command which clears ALL internal registers:
  33. AT%<1532>         response: ERROR
